Contingency recruitment is a type of outsourced recruiting service. For this service, a hiring company only pays Talent Ninja when we successfully fill a role. In other words, it’s a “No Win, No Fee” arrangement.

WHAT IS A CONTINGENCY RECRUITING FIRM?

Contingency recruiting firms work for clients; in this case, Talent Ninja. We search for candidates that fit best. We work on a project-by-project basis. Plus, we only get paid when the open job is filled.

HOW DOES A CONTINGENT RECRUITMENT AGENCY WORK?

Contingency recruiters, like Talent Ninja are not employees of the hiring company. We are contractors. And we work on the search with the understanding that we will be paid upon successful placement of the candidate. Typically, this means competing with client’s in-house recruiters or direct applicants. Sometimes recruiting agencies go head to head against each other.

The contingency recruitment process varies between agencies. But most often the general workflow is as follows:

1. The client provides a job description to a contingency recruiter.
2. ** The client and recruiter agree upon a contracted fee and warranty.**
3. Talent Ninja begins contacting candidates in pursuit of finding “the one.”
4. Talent Ninja obtains the candidate’s permission to submit to an employer.
5. The client selects candidates to interview.
6. The client makes an offer of employment to a candidate.

HOW DO RECRUITERS GET PAID?

The client pays nothing unless we get the right match. In other words, Talent Ninja's work is free until the right hire accepts the offered job. Once the new hire begins work, a fee is due to us. However, a replacement will found, one time per the term agreement, at no additional charge if the new hire fails within the warranty period. The fee is usually a percentage of the first-year salary offered to the candidate, which is determined by the complexity and seniority of the position.
